I graduated Texas A&M University School of Law and I'm a proud member of the Texas Bar as well as a Certified Public Accountant. I have a deep and abiding passion for flying, sailing, and the arts. This blog is designed for others who share my interests in how laws, especially tax laws, affect these avocations, as well as some general reflections on tax controversy, international tax issues, and some items of general advocacy interest.

Abandoned Farmhouse
I find this house to be fascinating. I was unaware of the house for several years after I moved to Waxahachie. The house is not visible for most of the year, despite being only 25 yards from the road. In late fall, it appears out of the treeline as if it were a Texas version of Brigadoon. The house disappears again, swallowed by the forest each spring. It's certain the owners never imagined their farm would be this transitory. The house and outbuildings were built to last.
Unfortunately, the trees behind the house have now been cut back for the new Waxahachie High School, so I anticipate the house will not exist much longer. These photos were taken from the roadway shoulder (Business 287); please respect private property.
