I graduated Texas A&M University School of Law and I'm a proud member of the Texas Bar as well as a Certified Public Accountant. I have a deep and abiding passion for flying, sailing, and the arts. This blog is designed for others who share my interests in how laws, especially tax laws, affect these avocations, as well as some general reflections on tax controversy, international tax issues, and some items of general advocacy interest.

VETERANS DAY
Another Veterans Day has come and gone. Veterans Day for me is a time to remember shipmates past and present. I joined the United States Navy in 1982, and had the privilege of serving in USS Callaghan (DDG-994).
I also had the honor of serving in USS Leahy (CG-16).
All of my shipmates, especially those of "OI" Division, had an unrelenting focus on operational excellence. These were some of the most superlative individuals I've ever met, constantly challenging me to rise to their "4.0" standards. What I am now, I am in large part because of these guys.
