Officer's Country in TEXAS is forward on the first deck. The wardroom is aft of the staterooms, but forward of Turret I (Barbette I). One is reminded that TEXAS was a flagship for most of her active service, with the silver and pantry supplies needed to entertain in pre-war style.
In the displayed stateroom, note the outboard frames and the evident sheer in the lagging by the electric fan. This stateroom is quite forward into the bow (forward is left in the photo,) and the stateroom is adjacent to the actual skin of the ship.
