Note the blues under the mattress of two of the racks in the berthing photographs. Way back in basic training, they told us to do that to keep them from wrinkling. Since we weren't a museum ship, ours were folded inside out to maintain the proper creasing.
I'm amazed at the items they found for the ship's store. This part of the ship seems to be frozen in time, which I'm sure is the desired effect.
I highly recommend visiting the TEXAS anytime you might be in the LaPorte area. For anyone with an interest in our maritime history, she remains highly relevant and has much to teach.
